ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports To:Vice President of Business Development
Supervises: UAV Program team members
GENERAL
FUNCTION: Lead the UAV team to develop ACR’s technology to
meet current and future customer needs. Work with flight crew to
flight test technology, train and support users. Manage projects,
contracts, customer relationships and program issues.
DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with
aerospace coursework desired.
- 8 to 15 years experience in aerospace company and prior collaborative
work with Engineers and Technicians essential. Product development
experience a must, preferably in a military setting.
- Previous program management and government contracts experience required.
- Knowledge of operations, including scheduling, procurement, contracting,
manufacturing, and quality systems.
- Strong proposal preparation background with proven track record sourcing
and securing funding.
- Knowledge of financial cost accounting desired.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple concurrent programs.
- Ability to support development programs and facilitate the transfer of
technology from the R&D environment to production and application.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word Processing/Presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong negotiation and
leadership skills. Ability to interface successfully with government, military, and commercial customers a must.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain technical and financial health of several diverse research &
development programs.
- Secure government, military, and corporate funding to support R& D for
existing and new company technologies.
- Interact with and maintain relationships with government and/or military
representatives and customers, and internal ACR staff.
- Provide engineering support for UAV flights.
- Lead Team meetings.
- Resolve conflicts among team members.
- Provide feedback regarding employee performance evaluations.
- Recommend and lead efforts to improve existing processes and implementation of
ISO 9000 standards.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Position is open to US Citizens only. Employees may be required to obtain a
DoD Secret Level Security Clearance.
- Must be able to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Overtime/Weekend work may be required.
- Extensive travel, including international travel and over weekends, may be
required.
